LUC The Hague Top Rated Programme 2016

Leiden University College The Hague has been rated  one of the best university colleges in the Netherlands according to the annual ranking  in the Guide to Dutch Universities 2016 (Keuzegids Universiteiten). The bachelor’s programme occupies second place in the ranking, with a score of 92 out of 100 points. This means that LUC The Hague can now officially use the distinction ‘Top Rated Programme 2016’.

Temporary reception of refugees in University Sport Centre

From Friday evening 23 October Leiden University will receive 120 refugees in our University Sport Centre (USC) on the Einsteinweg in Leiden. The refugees will stay for a week, up to and including Friday 30 October. This measure has consequences for students and staff. Sporting activities in the sport centre will not be possible during this period and exams will be held at different locations in the town.   

Leiden University College in The Hague celebrates its fifth anniversary

Leiden University College The Hague (LUC) is celebrating its fifth anniversary. This English-language programme with on-campus teaching for excellent students has proved to be a great success. On Saturday 10 October, the LUC will be celebrating in Diligentia Theatre in The Hague with numerous speakers, including Jaap de Hoop Scheffer.

Happy Birthday LUC The Hague!

Exactly 5 years ago LUC The Hague officially opened its doors with a ceremony in Theater Diligentia. This year we will celebrate our first lustrum in the same theatre on the 10th of October but we shouldn’t forget that today, the 29th of September, is LUC’s official birthday. Our Educational Director, Lieke Schreel, who joined LUC even before it had officially started, shares her memories of the last couple of years.

'The Hague is perfect'

The more than 290 students who will shortly be starting their studies at Campus The Hague, met at some of the city's hotspots on 11 August to get to know one another and the city. 'The Hague is perfect, it's ideally located and it's very international.'

Patrick Overeem wins an ISRF Early Career Fellowship

How are compromises struck in Dutch politics? Why are some compromises better than others? And to what extent do characteristics of the politicians involved affect the moral quality of a compromise? In 2016, assistant professor dr. Patrick Overeem will conduct a research project on these questions.
