Terrorism continues to rank highly on the political agenda. To meet the demands, from national and international policy makers to local security officials, the Centre for Terrorism and Counterterrorism (CTC) at Leiden University - Campus The Hague seeks to provide a uniquely integrated, interdisciplinary approach to the phenomenon of terrorism. Initiated by the National Coordinator for Counterterrorism (NCTb) and Leiden University, the centre contributes to various essential components of terrorism research, education, and consulting.

Centre for Modern Urban Studies

The Centre for Modern Urban Studies (MUS) is a multidisciplinary research institute that investigates historic and current changes in large cities. Those changes that are socio-cultural, economic, juridical or technological are interwoven in a complex way.


Grotius Centre The Hague

The Grotius Centre for International Legal Studies is a centre of Leiden University dedicated to research, teaching, and training in public international law. The Centre has activities that take place in Leiden as well as in The Hague. In The Hague, where the centre forms part of the Campus Den Haag, the Centre is in close proximity to important international legal institutions.


Montesquieu Institute

The Montesquieu Institute (MI) for the study of European comparative parliamentary history and European constitutional developments started its activities in 2008 mainly in the fields of educational and research programs.
