Dear reader, Thank you for your feedback, your suggestions for improvement and the completed evaluations during the 2014-2015 academic year. At the start of this new academic year, we as a faculty would like to show our students and staff what we do with your feedback and the results of various evaluations.

Lecture prof. Christensen

Friday, the 2nd of October, Professor Tom Christensen (University of Oslo) visited our campus. Visit his lecture on his latest research topic of interest: reputation management and social accountability in universities.

25 September, 2015: Opening Central and East European Studies Center

Friday 25 September, 2015 marks the official launch of Leiden University's Central and East European Studies Center. From 17:00 to 19:00 you are welcome at Campus The Hague for the opening lecture. The speaker is Luke March, a political scientist and expert from the University of Edinburgh. He will address the topical issue of Russia's policy towards Ukraine.


Patrick Overeem wins an ISRF Early Career Fellowship

How are compromises struck in Dutch politics? Why are some compromises better than others? And to what extent do characteristics of the politicians involved affect the moral quality of a compromise? In 2016, assistant professor dr. Patrick Overeem will conduct a research project on these questions.


Research area of Politics and international studies at Leiden University ranks highly in QS

In the 2015 QS World University rankings the area of Politics and International Studies at Leiden University, which includes Public Administration, has climbed to the 23rd place worldwide. Politics and International Studies at Leiden University holds the first position in The Netherlands and a top 10 position (6th) within Europe. The Institute of Public Administration is proud of this outstanding achievement and is committed to further strengthening its leading international position.


Anniversary Gala Public Administration

This year the Institute of Public Administration is celebrating its 30th anniversary.  To commemorate this a formal ball will be organized on May 8th. Students, alumni, (former) employees and friends of the institute are all invited to join us in the festivities.  


Jan Brouwer Thesis Award for Raffael Hanschmann

The Jan Brouwer thesis award for social sciences 2015 was awarded last April 14th to Master graduate in Public Administration Raffael Hanschmann for his thesis “The impact of the economic crisis on EU environmental policy making. Insights from discourse network analysis”.
