The MOOC experience
Leiden University will add six new MOOCs in the coming year. The video shows how MOOCs work, and features Leiden students and lecturers talking about their experiences so far with these on-line courses.
Leiden University started to offer Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) in 2013. 'One of the most important advantages of MOOCs is that they introduce innovation in on-campus teaching,' comments Professor Simone Buitendijk, Vice-Rector of Leiden University. In 2013, over 80,000 students enrolled in Leiden University’s MOOCs on European Law (given by Professor Stefaan van den Bogaert) and on Terrorism & Counterterrorism (given by Professor Edwin Bakker).
Leiden University will add six more MOOCs in the coming year on topics including Linguistics, Areas studies, International security studies, Children's rights, the Global metals challenge, and Integrity in science and scholarship. Two of the MOOCs already established will be offered again, with Terrorism coming up in January 2014.
You can enroll now for the MOOC on Terrorism & Counterterrorism, which begins on 6 January 2014. Please subscribe via Coursera.
