Faculty Campus The Hague is looking for a new student-member (assessor) of the board for the upcoming academic year (2015/2016)!

Faculty Campus The Hague is one of the seven faculties at Leiden University and consists out of the Institute of Public Administration, Leiden University College The Hague, research centers. Also activities from other faculties of Leiden University take place in The Hague (like International Studies from the Faculty of Humanities).

From May 1st 2015 the interim-board of the faculty consists out of the Dean (Kutsal Yesilkagit), the Vice-Dean (Bernard Steunenberg), Vice-Dean responsible for LUC (Jos Schaeken), the Managing Director (Rolf Oosterloo) and the Assessor (currently Mikal Tseggai). The board is in charge of the day to day operations of the faculty, and deals with issues concerning education, research and faculty management. The assessor represents the voice of the students of the faculty in the board for the academic year 2015//2016.

Job description:

  • Representing the interests of students in the policy development of the faculty;

  • Being a full member of the board and participating in the weekly board meetings.

  • Having regular contact with active students in the faculty, by attending meetings of the faculty council and organizing topical student panels;

  • Chairing the meetings of the study associations at Campus The Hague, the student representatives in the programme boards and the student members of the programme councils;

  • Participating in regular meetings with your colleague assessors from the other faculties at Leiden University, especially with the assessors of the faculties participating in The Hague;

  • Maintaining contact with student associations and initiatives on behalf of the university, and guiding them with applying for financial compensation, subsidies and other practical issues.

Job requirements:

  • An interest in administrative processes and some experience with them, preferably in the faculty;

  • (Passive) knowledge of the Dutch language and active knowledge of the English language;

  • Interest in faculty- and university business and education;

  • Excellent communication skills;

  • A flexible schedule;

  • Being a student at Faculty Campus The Hague.

The position of assessor will require approximately 1 to 2 days (8-16 hrs) per week in consultancy with the candidate. A financial compensation is rewarded.
